Dear Ottawa County Fair Supporter,

For many years, you have been among the fairgoers who have reserved grandstand seating and helped make our Fair traditions what they are today. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and the role you have played in the success of the Ottawa County Fair.

 

As such, we are writing to inform you of an important change to our reserved seating process for the 2026 Fair.

 

After careful consideration, the Ottawa County Fair Senior Fairboard has voted to discontinue the grandfathering of reserved grandstand seats. Beginning this year, all reserved seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

We recognize that many individuals and families have held the same seats for years, and in some cases, generations. We understand those seats have become part of cherished Fair traditions and memories. This decision was not made lightly.

 

As the Fair grows and changes, we must continue looking for ways to ensure opportunities remain available to all fairgoers. The Fairboard believes this change provides everyone with the same opportunity to reserve seats should they wish and choose those from the full inventory of available seating, rather than limiting selections based on seats held from previous years.

 

As part of this change, no seats have been held, reserved, or pre-assigned for previous seat holders. All reserved seating will be available on the same first-come, first-served basis.

 

Reserved seats may be purchased online or in person at the Fairboard Office starting June 20 from 8 am to 2 pm.

 

We understand this change may be disappointing to some, and we appreciate your understanding as we continue working to provide the best possible Fair experience for all. While the seating process is changing, the traditions, memories, and excitement that make the Ottawa County Fair special will continue for generations to come.
